3 c. 100 proof vodka
1 vanilla bean pod
3 c. sugar
3 c. water
5 tsp. instant coffee

Simmer water, sugar, coffee and chopped bean pod for 1 hour. Skim. Add vodka while warm and let stand 12 hours.
