APPLE DUMPLINGS 
1 1/2 c. all purpose flour
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
3 tbsp. water
2/3 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 c. water
2 tbsp. butter
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
4 tart apples

Mix together flour and salt, cut in shortening, sprinkle with water. Gather dough together, press into ball. Roll out pastry to a 1/4 inch thick and 7 inch squares. Pare and core apples, cut in half. Fill with sugar and cinnamon, wrap in pastry squares.

SAUCE:

Boil 1 1/2 cups water, the brown sugar, butter, and cinnamon. Pour over apples in baking dish. Bake 40 to 45 minutes at 450 degrees.
