CHOCO-CHIP OATMEAL COOKIES 
1 1/4 c. butter
3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c. sugar

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Beat together sugars and butter until light and fluffy. Beat in 1 egg and 1 teaspoon vanilla. 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt

Combine. Gradually add to butter mixture, mixing until well blended. Stir in 3 cups oats, 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate pieces and 3/4 cup chopped nuts. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 9 to 10 minutes for chewy cookies; 11 to 12 minutes for crispier cookies. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet; cool completely on wire rack. Makes 6 dozen.
