CHEESECAKE COOKIES 
PASTRY:

1/3 c. butter
1/3 c. brown sugar
1 c. all-purpose flour (or whole wheat flour)
1/2 c. chopped walnuts (or sunflower seeds)

FILLING:

8 oz. cream cheese
1/4 c. honey
1 egg
2 tbsp. milk
2 tbsp. lemon juice
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp nutmeg, optional
Orange, apple, banana or strawberry slices, optional for garnish

Blend pastry ingredients together with pastry cutter until crumbly (except nuts). Add nuts and mix. Reserve 1/2 cup pastry for topping. Press remainder into 8 inch square pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes. Filling: Soften cream cheese with spoon, blend in honey and blend in remaining ingredients; beat well. Spread over baked crust. Sprinkle reserved pastry crust with optional garnishes (except strawberries) over top. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Cool and cut into 2 inch squares. If using strawberries, put them on at this point.
