CABBAGE PATCH SALAD | |
1 tbsp. sesame seeds, toasted 1/2 c. slivered almonds, toasted 1/2 med. cabbage 4 green onions, chopped 1 pkg. Chicken Top Ramen, uncooked 2 tbsp. sugar 1/2 c. sesame oil 3 tbsp. rice vinegar 1 pkg. chicken flavor from soup 1/2 tsp. pepper 1 tsp. salt Add coriander to taste Shred cabbage to the thickness you like. Mix cabbage and green onion. Crunch up noodles and mix with cabbage. Add nuts and seeds. Mix remaining ingredients to make dressing and pour over salad. Tastes best if you let it sit for a while in the refrigerator before eating. I sometimes marinate chicken breasts in a teriyaki sauce and broil or BBQ them. I then cut in bite sized pieces and add them to the salad. I also think it is very important to use the sesame oil and rice vinegar instead of regular salad oil and plain vinegar. The taste is much better. You could also use different flavors of Top Ramen such as pork and beef and then add the appropriate left over meats. Also - I add chunks of cooked chicken. |
