SCONES 
2 c. butter
3 rounded tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped pecans
3 1/2 c. plain flour, sifted
1 box confectioners sugar
Your favorite jelly or preserves

Cream softened butter and sugar. Sift in flour and mix until a thick dough is formed. Add nuts and mix together. Dough will almost crumble. Pinch off small ball of dough, indent top, and add jelly or preserves. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 200 degrees for about 2 hours, or until lightly browned. Remove from cookie sheet and dust with confectioners sugar.
