2 c. sugar 1/4 c. white syrup 1/2 c. milk 1/2 c. butter 3 tbsp. cocoa 1/4 tsp. salt Cook in a double boiler until it reaches "soft boil" on candy thermometer. 1 tsp. vanilla 1 tbsp. marshmallow cream When mixture reaches the soft ball stage, remove from heat and beat until lukewarm. Then add vanilla and marshmallow cream. Beat until it loses its gloss. Add nuts if desired. Pour into buttered dish and let set until firm. |
