GRAM'S OATMEAL CHOCOLATE CHIP
COOKIES
 
2 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 c. buttermilk or sour milk (stir 1 tsp. baking soda in milk)
2 c. oatmeal
3 tsp. vanilla
3 c. flour
2 c. chocolate chips

Cream sugar, eggs, and shortening first, then gradually add the rest, mixing well after each addition. Bake 13 minutes at 350 degrees.
