1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda

FROSTING:

1/4 lb. butter
4 tbsp. cocoa (or 3 sq. chocolate)
6 tbsp. milk
2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. nuts
1 box powdered sugar (2 c.)

During last 5 minutes cake is baking, melt butter, cocoa (or chocolate). Add milk, vanilla, nuts and powdered sugar. Mix well. Spread on cake right out of oven. If frosting seems too stiff to spread, heat it a little bit until it is just right.
