JOHNNY APPLESEED CAKE 
1/2 c. butter
1 3/4 c. (1 lb. can) sweetened applesauce
2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. allspice
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. raisins
1 c. chopped nuts

Grease bottom only of 9 inch spring pan or 11 x 7 inch pan. In large saucepan combine butter and applesauce. Place over medium heat until butter melts, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat. Blend in remaining ingredients stirring until well combined. Pour into pan, spreading to edges. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes or until top springs back when touched lightly in center.

This is a good old fashioned cake. I usually leave out the nuts and sometimes use candied fruit mix instead of raisins. Everybody loves it and it make the house smell so good!
