LINGUINI WITH CLAM SAUCE 
1/4 c. olive oil
1 clove garlic, chopped
1 sm. onion, chopped
1 lb. chopped clams with juice
1 tsp. salt and pepper
1 tsp. chopped basil
1 lb. linguini (or spaghetti), cooked
1 (28 oz.) can Italian tomatoes, pureed

Saute garlic and onion in oil. Remove from oil. To oil, add pureed or "kitchen ready" tomatoes. Add other ingredients (clams, salt, pepper, and basil). If too thick, add 1/2 or 1 cup water. Cook on low heat for 2 hours.

Cook linguini per package directions. Drain and add to bowl with clam sauce. Toss. Serve with grated Romano or Parmesan cheese.
