CHIPS 'N OATS COOKIES 
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 tbsp. vanilla
2 c. sifted all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ginger
2 c. rolled oats
12 oz. chocolate chips
1 c. chopped pecans

Cream butter, butter and both sugars in a large mixer until light and fluffy. Add the eggs and vanilla; beat until blended.

Sift the flour, baking powder, soda, and spices. Add to butter mixture and stir until blended. Stir in oats, chocolate chips, and nuts. Use heaping tablespoons to spoon 2 inches apart onto cookie sheet. Flatten slightly and bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Cool slightly on cookie sheets before removing to wire rack to cool completely.
