SOFT PRETZELS 
5 c. flour
1 pkg. yeast rapid rise
3/4 tsp. salt
1 1/4 c. very hot water

In large bowl, mix flour, yeast and salt. Add hot water. Knead in bowl until mixed. Turn out on board and knead until smooth. Let rest 15 minutes with bowl turned over dough. Grease 2 cookie sheets. Divide dough in 6 pieces.

Roll each piece into 16-inch rope, form into pretzel shape, dip in salt dip. Place on cookie sheet, sprinkle with coarse salt. Cover loosely and let rise until double. Bake at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes. Best if eaten same day made.

SALT DIP:

1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
3/4 c. water

Mix together.
