INDIANAPOLIS BANANA SPLIT | |
3 sticks butter, plus 2 tbsp. 1 box vanilla wafers (12 oz.) Nabisco-Nilla are best 2 eggs 2 c. confectioners' sugar 1 lg. container Cool Whip, 12-13 oz. 6 bananas 1 lg. can crushed pineapple, drained Maraschino cherries Nuts (pecan or English walnuts) Melt 1 stick and 2 tbsp. butter and add to crushed wafers. Press mixture into large cake pan (13x9x2). Beat together 15 minutes or until mixture peaks (like whipped cream) the eggs, sugar and 2 sticks of butter. Spread this mixture over crust. Cover with bananas sliced lengthwise and then add well drained pineapple. Over this, spread Cool Whip. Dot with maraschino cherries and sprinkle with crushed nuts. Note: Refrigerate overnight or at least 6 hours. |
