1 lb. lean ground beef 1 lg. onion, chopped 1 med. green pepper, chopped 1 clove garlic, crushed 1 can (16 oz.) tomatoes 1/2 c. raisins 1 tsp. each chili powder and cinnamon 1/2 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. pepper 1/4 tsp. cloves 1/4 c. slivered almonds 1 tbsp. oil In large skillet over medium heat cook beef, onion, green pepper and garlic until beef is brown and onion tender. Drain fat. Stir in tomatoes, raisins, chili powder and cinnamon, salt, cloves and pepper. Bring to boil, reduce heat. Simmer uncovered 15 minutes. Transfer to serving platter. Wipe skillet clean. Add almonds and oil; saute over medium heat until light brown. Sprinkle over beef. (Serve over cooked rice.) |
