ORNAMENTAL FROSTING 
1/4 c. (1/2 stick) butter
4 c. sifted powdered sugar
2 egg whites
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. Cream of Tartar
1-2 tsp. light cream
Few drops food coloring if desired.

With a pastry blender cut butter into sugar till mixture looks like cornmeal. Then add unbeaten egg whites, vanilla and Cream of Tartar. Beat thoroughly. Stir in cream until frosting is a little stiffer than spreading consistency for pastry tube use. To frost cookies make of spreading consistency. Add a few drops of food coloring. Mix well. (Came with butter cookie).
