CINNAMON TWISTS 
1 c. sour milk
1/8 tsp. baking soda
3 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 pkg. yeast
1 lg. egg
2 tbsp. soft shortening
3 c. sifted flour

Heat sour milk to lukewarm; remove from heat. Add soda, sugar, and salt. Add yeast and stir. Add egg and shortening and stir. Add flour slowly; mix after each addition (mixture will be soft). Roll dough out thin, spread with soft butter. Sprinkle mixture of 1/3 cup brown sugar and 1 tablespoon cinnamon lengthwise; fold other part over. Cut in 1 inch strips. Twist ends opposite directions; put on greased baking sheet. Put end to end on sheet. Rise 1 hour. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes. Glaze while quite warm with powdered sugar and milk mixture.
