BLACK MIDNIGHT CAKE 
2 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
4 eggs
1 c. cocoa
2 c. hot coffee
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
3 c. flour

Combine cocoa and coffee. Stir to dissolve. Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs. Add coffee and cocoa mixture to creamed mixture. Alternate with sifted ingredients. Bake in a loaf pan 13 x 9 x 2 inches at 350 degrees for 45-55 minutes or until it tests done.
