LEMON-ORANGE LAYER CAKE | |
Bake Duncan Hines lemon cake mix in 2 (8") layer cake pans. FILLING: 2 eggs, beaten well 1 c. sugar Pinch salt Juice of 1 lemon + grated rind Juice of 1 orange + grated rind Cool cooked layer cakes. Split each. These can be frozen for future use if desired. In double boiler combine filling ingredients. Cook, stirring constantly until thick. Takes about 5 minutes. Cool. Whip 1 pint all purpose cream. Fold into cooled filling. Spread on layers, top and sides. Keep cool until serving. Delicious, light, lemon dessert. |
