KAROLA'S SAUERKRAUT 
1/4 lb. finely cut up bacon
1 onion, chopped
1 jar sauerkraut
2 tbsp. brown sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. caraway seed
A few peppercorns
A few juniper berries
1 bay leaf

Brown the cut up bacon in skillet; add chopped onion and saute. Add sugar, salt and spices. Mix and pour over once washed kraut (be careful to not wash too much). Leave 2 cups water in kraut and simmer covered for 1 hour. Serve with heated Kielbasa sausage or grilled Bratwurst.
