SALMON CAKES 
6 slices bread, torn in pieces
1 lg. egg
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. prepared mustard
1 tsp. dried basil
1/4 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1/3 c. chopped onion
1/3 c. finely chopped celery
1 (15 oz.) can salmon, drained (save liquid)

Process bread into crumbs. Add all ingredients except salmon. Drain salmon, reserve liquid. Add salmon and half of liquid. Add additional liquid until of proper consistency. Shape into patties using 1/2 cup measuring cup. Place on lightly greased broiler rack. Brush patties with small amount of oil and broil 4 inches from heat source 5 minutes. Turn patties, brush with oil and broil 5-6 minutes longer. Could be baked in pie plate at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
