SKI CAKE 
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. shaved unsweetened chocolate
2 egg whites

Cream shortening. Add 1/2 c. sugar until light and fluffy. Sift flour and baking powder mixture into shortening, alternately with milk. Then add vanilla and chocolate. Heat oven to 350 degrees. While heating, separate eggs and beat whites stiff. Gradually add other 1/2 cup of sugar to make a meringue. Fold into cake mixture.

FROSTING:

1/2 c. butter
1 1/2 c. confectioner's sugar
2 egg yolks
Some shaved chocolate
