SHREDDED CABBAGE SALAD 
1 tbsp. unflavored gelatin
1/4 c. cold water
1 c. white vinegar
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. water
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. celery salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 c. salad oil
8 to 10 c. cabbage, shredded
1 med. onion, minced
1 green pepper (chopped)
2 lg. carrots (grated)

Dissolve gelatin in cold water. Heat vinegar, sugar and water to boiling. Add gelatin, salt, celery salt, and pepper. Slowly add salad oil and beat for several minutes.

Combine cabbage, onion, pepper and carrots and add to the dressing. Let stand in refrigerator for 24 hours. This makes a big bowl and keeps well. The amount of gelatin only gives it a little body so it isn't runny.
