HEATH BAR TORTE | |
1 pkg. crushed graham crackers 1/2 c. melted butter 1 1/2 c. chopped walnuts 5 egg whites 1 c. and 2 tbsp. of sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 6 crushed Heath or Skor candy bars 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar 1 c. whipping cream Combine the graham crackers, butter, and walnuts. Press them as a crust into a 9 x 13 inch glass pan. Beat the egg whites until stiff. Then add the cream of tartar and sugar gradually while beating. Spread this over the crust. Bake 1 hour at 250 degrees. After this has cooled, beat the whipping cream until stiff. Then add a sprinkling of sugar and vanilla and mix. Fold in all but 1/3 cup candy bars into the whipped cream mixture. Spread this over the egg whites and sprinkle the rest of the candy bars on top. |
