CHERRY CHOCOLATE SQUARES 
BOTTOM LAYER:

1/2 c. butter
1/4 c. sugar
1/3 c. cocoa
1 3/4 c. graham cracker crumbs
1/2 c. coconut
1/3 c. walnuts, finely chopped
1 tbsp. water
1 egg (fork-beaten)

SECOND LAYER:

1/4 c. butter, softened
2 tbsp. Maraschino cherry juice
1 tsp. almond flavoring
2 1/2 c. powdered sugar
1/3 c. Maraschino cherries, chopped

THIRD LAYER:

2 tbsp. butter
1/3 c. chocolate chips

BOTTOM LAYER: Put butter, sugar and cocoa in saucepan. When melted, stir in fork-beaten egg and cook until thickened slightly. Remove from heat. Stir in crumbs, coconut, walnuts and water. Press very firmly into ungreased pan.

SECOND LAYER: Beat butter, cherry juice, almond flavoring and powdered sugar together. Blot cherries with paper towel and stir in. Drop dabs here and there and spread. Let stand for 10 minutes or smooth out with a spoon.

THIRD LAYER: Melt butter, add chocolate chips and stir to melt. Smooth over second layer. Chill. Cut into 36 squares.
