BLUE RIBBON GINGER COOKIES 
3/4 c. shortening
1 c. white sugar
1/4 c. molasses
1 egg
2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cloves

Mix shortening, sugar, molasses and 1 egg. Add flour. Add rest of ingredients. Roll into balls about 1 inch in diameter. Roll ball in sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for 7 to 10 minutes.
