1 c. sugar
2 tbsp. Crisco
1 egg
1/2 c. cocoa mixed with boiling water to make paste
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour

Mix or beat first 4 ingredients. Then add dry ingredients, milk and vanilla. Pour into 9 x 13 inch tin and bake at 350 degrees for about 28 minutes.
