PUMPKIN COOKIES 
1 c. sugar
1 c. butter
1 c. pumpkin
2 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 beaten egg
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

Bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes on ungreased cookie sheet. Cookies don't taste the same without frosting.

UNCOOKED FROSTING:

2 tbsp. melted shortening
2 tbsp. milk
4 tbsp. or 1/2 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Add enough powdered sugar (about 1 cup) to thicken.
