NEWLYWED HUSBAND'S TACOS
1 lb. lean ground beef
1 (1 1/4 oz.) pkg. taco seasoning mix
3/4 c. water
3/4 c. vegetable oil
12 (6 inch) corn tortilla
3 c. shredded lettuce
2 lg. tomatoes, chopped
1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
1/2 c. sour cream (optional)
1 avocado, sliced (optional)

In large skillet, brown ground beef until crumbly, draining off any fat. Stir in seasoning mix and water. Simmer uncovered 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

In another skillet, heat oil to 350 degrees. Fry one tortilla until it becomes soft, then fold in half and hold it slightly open in a U-shape with tongs. Fry until crisp and light brown. Drain on paper towel. Keep warm on baking sheet in 200 degree oven. Fry remaining tortillas or you can skip this if using pre- made taco shells. Fill each shell with meat mixture and top with remaining ingredients. Serve immediately. Yields: approximately 3 to 6 servings.
