CHUNKY APPLESAUCE 
4 lbs. cooking apples (10 to 12 med.)
1 1/2 c. water
1/2 to 1 c. sugar
Cinnamon to taste

Pare, peel and quarter apples. Combine with water in large pot and bring to a boil. Cook over medium heat 10 to 15 minutes or until apples are tender. Add 1 to 2 teaspoons cinnamon, per your preference. Mash apples to desired consistency. Gradually stir in sugar, tasting to determine sweetness. Makes 6 cups. Can be frozen. Serve hot or cold.
