CAKE DOUGHNUTS 
4 egg yolks (or 2 whole eggs)
1 c. sugar
2/3 tbsp. soft shortening
3 1/2 c. buttermilk
2 tsp. baking power
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. cinnamon

Mix well and add flour until you have a stiff dough. Roll out on floured board until about 1/4 inch thick. Cut with doughnut cutter and fry in deep fat.
