NUT PIE 
4 tbsp. gelatin, unflavored
5 tbsp. cold water
3 c. hot milk
4 tbsp. sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
3 eggs, separated
4 tbsp. sugar
3 tbsp. brandy
6 tbsp. chopped pecans or almonds

Soak gelatin in cold water, add to hot milk. Add sugar and salt; stir until dissolved. Beat egg yolks; add to hot mixture; cook over hot water until thick. Cool slightly. Beat egg whites with 4 tablespoons sugar; fold into first mixture. Add brandy; pour into large baked pie shell. Cool until set; top with whipped cream. Sprinkle nuts over.
