SHORTBREAD COOKIES 
1 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
2 1/4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
3/4 c. chocolate chips, melted
2/3 c. chopped walnuts

Cream butter. Add sugar, creaming until fluffy. Stir in flour. Roll to 1/2 inch thickness and cut in sticks 1/2 inch wide and 1 1/2 inches long. Bake on ungreased baking sheet at 325 degrees for 25 minutes. Spread half the sticks with melted chocolate and stack a plain stick on each. Dip one end in melted chocolate, then in chopped nuts. Makes about 50.
