GERMAN BISCUITS 
1 pkg. dry yeast
2 c. buttermilk
1/2 c. shortening
3 tbsp. sugar
2 c. flour
1/4 c. water
1 tsp. baking soda
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt

Sprinkle yeast on water and set aside. Measure other ingredients together in mixing bowl. Add yeast and beat well. Add flour and knead into dough ball. Flour a container which has a cover, place dough into it and seal.

Place in refrigerator until ready for use. May use small amount at a time. Make into buns and let rise 30 minutes before baking. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes or until brown.
