STEP I:

5-6 lg. red Delicious apples
2 tsp. cinnamon
5 tbsp. sugar

STEP II:

3 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking powder
1 c. oil
4 unbeaten eggs
1/3 c. mixed orange juice
2 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Combine Step I ingredients; set aside. Combine Step II ingredients. Set aside. Grease and flour a tube pan. Pour half of the Step 2 batter in the bottom of the pan. Layer with Step 1 apple ingredients, except the juice portion. Then the rest of the batter. Pour the juice of the apple mixture over the top of the cake and place in oven at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.
