GRANDMA LINTON'S DATE PUDDING 
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
Pinch of salt
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. dates, finely chopped
1/2 c. nuts, finely chopped
2/3 c. milk

SAUCE:

1/2 c. brown sugar
1 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. HOT water

Combine all pudding ingredients. Beat for 3 minutes. Pour into ungreased baking dish. Pour sauce over batter.

SAUCE: Combine all sauce ingredients, boil 3 minutes. Let cool slightly then add 1 teaspoon vanilla. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Let cool. Break into pieces and mix with large tub of Cool Whip.
