DATE AND NUT PUDDING 
2 tbsp. butter
1 c. milk
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. dates, cut up
1 c. granulated sugar
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped walnuts

Mix all together.

SYRUP:

2 c. brown sugar
3 1/2 c. boiling water
2 tbsp. butter

Mix well and pour over pudding. Bake 35 or 40 minutes 350 degrees. When you make this pudding you will think that 3 1/2 cups boiling water is too much for syrup, but it isn't, it soaks down in batter. Bake in large pan as it makes a big pudding.
