ESAU'S POTTAGE 
6-7 c. water
3-4 lg. onions, chopped
1 c. lentils
3/4 c. brown rice
1/2 c. olive oil (a must!)
1 tbsp. salt

Saute onions in olive oil - in soup pot. Add water, lentils, rice and salt. Cook 30 minutes or so; uncover and cook longer to thicken. Don't substitute other oil for the olive oil. It gives the soup a wonderful flavor.
