CHOCOLATE CHEESECAKE TORTE 
9 inch springform pan

CRUST:

1 1/2 c. chocolate wafers, crushed
1 pkg. chocolate wafers
1/3 c. melted butter

Mix melted butter with crushed wafers. Press into pan and bake at 325 degrees for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and stand 13 cookies on edge of pan.

FILLING:

1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
6 oz. chocolate
2 c. whipped cream

Mix cream cheese, 1/4 cup sugar and vanilla until blended. Stir in 2 egg yolks (beaten), 6 ounces melted chocolate. Beat 2 egg whites until very stiff. Gradually beat in 1/4 cup sugar. fold egg whites into chocolate mixture. Add 1 cup of whipped cream. Fold in gently. Pour over crumb base. Freeze at this time if desired.

Before serving, release from pan. Whip 1 cup whipping cream and spread on top. Garnish with chocolate shavings.
