DEVIL'S FOOD CAKE 
4 sq. semi-sweet chocolate, melted
1 c. boiling water
1/2 c. butter, melted
2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. flour
1/2 c. sour milk (1 tbsp. vinegar to 1/2 c. milk)
1 tsp. baking soda
2 eggs

Melt together chocolate and butter. Combine chocolate mixture with boiling water.

Sift together in a large bowl the sugar, salt and flour.

Add to dry ingredients the sour milk, baking soda and the chocolate mixture.

Lastly add 2 unbeaten eggs. Beat for 2 minutes.

Bake in 2 (9 inch) GREASED cake pans at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Cool and frost with 7 Minute Frosting.

7 MINUTE FROSTING:

2 egg whites
1 1/2 c. sugar
5 tbsp. cold water
1 1/2 tbsp. light corn syrup
1 tsp. vanilla

Place first four ingredients in the upper part of a double boiler over boiling water. Beat with an electric mixer 7 to 10 minutes until frosting peaks.

Remove from heat. Add vanilla. Beat until thick enough to spread.

Enough to frost a two layer round cake.
