APRICOT BARS 
3/4 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1 1/3 c. coconut
1/2 c. walnuts, chopped
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 (12 oz.) jar apricot preserves

Cream butter and sugar. Add egg and mix well. Combine dry ingredients. Gradually add to butter mixture. Add the rest of the ingredients. Press 2/3 dough in a greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Spread preserves and crumble remaining dough on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes.
