BOSTON BROWN BREAD 
2 c. boiling water
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tbsp. butter
1 pkg. raisins

Mix together and let cool.

Then add:

1 tsp. salt
2 eggs
4 c. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 to 1 c. nuts

Bake in well greased coffee cans set in a pan of water at 350 for 55 minutes.
