MA WELCH'S EASY PEACH COBBLER | |
1 (16 oz.) can sliced peaches (2 c. diced and sweetened fresh peaches are better) 1 c. milk 1 c. flour 2 tsp. baking powder 1 c. sugar Dash of salt 1 stick butter, melted 1/4 c. sugar for topping Preheat oven to 400 degrees. In a medium saucepan over low heat, cook the fruit to boiling. Set aside. In a medium size mixing bowl, mix the flour, sugar, milk, baking powder, and salt. Put the melted butter in an oblong glass dish or 2 quart casserole dish. Pour the batter over this, then the hot fruit. Do not stir. Sprinkle the 1/4 cup sugar over the top. You can also sprinkle a little cinnamon on top, if desired. Bake at 400 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes. Serve warm with cream. |
