CLASSIC FRENCH SILK PIE | |
1 c. sugar 3/4 c. butter, softened 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar 3 squares unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled 3 eggs 1 c. whipped cream, chilled 3 tbsp. powdered sugar 9" pie shell Beat sugar and butter together until fluffy. Stir in vanilla, cream of tartar and chocolate. Beat in eggs until mixture becomes light and fluffy. Pour into pie shell and chill until set, approximately 3 - 4 hours or cover with plastic wrap and freeze 15 minutes. Beat whipped cream and powdered sugar in chilled bowl until stiff. Top pie with nuts or chocolate curls. Refrigerate. |
