CHOCOLATE CHIP MELT AWAY COOKIES 
1 c. butter
1 c. vegetable oil
1 c. sugar
1 c. sifted powdered sugar
2 eggs
4 c. all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
12 oz. semisweet chocolate chips

Combine first 5 ingredients in large mixing bowl. Beat until smooth. Combine flour, soda, cream of tartar and salt. Add the butter mixture. Beat until smooth. Stir in vanilla and chocolate chips. Drop on cooking sheet, small drops no more than a teaspoon about 2 inches apart. Bake at 375 degrees 10-12 minutes. Cool. Yields 8 1/2 dozen.
