BUTTERSCOTCH FROSTING 
2 c. light brown sugar
1 c. granulated sugar
2 tbsp. light corn syrup
3/4 c. milk
1/4 c. Crisco (solid shortening)
1/4 c. butter
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

In saucepan mix all ingredients except vanilla together well. Bring slowly to a rolling boil, stirring constantly and boil briskly for 2 minutes. (Boil 2 1/2 minutes on a rainy day). Cool to lukewarm add vanilla and beat until creamy and thick enough to spread. Yield: frosting for tops and sides of two 9 inch layers. Good on a yellow cake.
