1 c. Crisco
2 c. sugar
3 c. sifted cake flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. egg whites

Cream sugar, shortening. Sift flour, salt, baking powder together and add to sugar and shortening mix alternately with the milk. Beat egg whites to soft peaks and fold into batter and bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes. Makes 3 (8 inch) layers.
