Never use A-1 for anything, until this recipe. It turned out great. Added to my cook binder.

I use a cup (small bottle from a four pack) of red wine instead of the A-1 sauce. I use golden mushroom soup because the cream of mushroom soup curdles. Sometimes I add a soup can of water if I feel there is not enough liquid. I use my largest two-handled pot.

I have been making this roast for years. I add an envelope of brown gravy mix along with the onion soup mix with a cup of water. Delicious recipe when I don't have time for the slow cooker.
