HOMESTYLE PEPPER STEAK 
1/4 c. Crisco oil
1 lb. round steak, cut into strips
1 med. onion, sliced thin
2 green peppers, sliced thin
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 c. cold water
2 tbsp. soy sauce
1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. garlic salt
1/4 tsp. black pepper

In electric skillet heat oil at 325 degrees. Add meat and brown. Remove meat, add onion and pepper to skillet and cook only until tender. Dissolve cornstarch in water and soy sauce, add sugar, garlic and pepper. Pour into skillet with vegetables until sauce is thick and clear. Add meat and cook until heated through. Serve over hot rice.
