HOME-MADE CHILI | |
2 1/2 lbs. ground beef or ground turkey, browned, discard grease 2 (32 oz.) cans beans, red or chili 2 c. tomato paste 1/8 c. chili powder 1 tbsp. garlic salt 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce 4 beef bouillon cubes or 1/6 c. beef base (may be purchased at Wholesale Club) 1 c. chopped onion 1 c. chopped celery 1/4 green pepper, chopped 1/2 tsp. ground cumin 1 bay leaf 3 qts. water 6 oz. broken spaghetti, do not precook Combine all ingredients in a large pot. Simmer on low for 3 or 4 hours, or all afternoon if you like. The longer it cooks, the better it is. |
